About this competition shirt
Boss Equestrian states 75% polyamide and 25% elastane for this model. That is the super-stretch quality in which the brand makes its show shirts: a fabric built above all on stretch. In the saddle that is what counts, because your shoulders and arms are moving all the time and a woven shirt starts to pull sooner.
What gives the Emma its shape are the vertical shaping seams in the front and back panels. Those seams take width out of the waist, so the shirt falls close to the body instead of hanging loose around the middle. Boss accordingly describes the model as shaping and slim-cut. At the top sits a double collar, and the brand finishing is done in a contrasting colour. For the rest the shirt stays plain white.
One point that belongs here honestly: Boss Equestrian describes the shirt as a combination of a cotton blend and a super-stretch material, but gives a single composition in the material field in which no cotton appears. Which part of the shirt that cotton blend makes up is not stated. The composition given is taken over here as it stands on the brand's page, without assigning it to a component.
That plain white is exactly what the rules govern in this category. Competition dress rules differ by federation, by discipline, by level and by country, and they are revised regularly. So check the current rules of your own federation before you enter. In showjumping the FEI prescribes a white collar, white cuffs with long sleeves and a white tie, stock or choker; for children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white. In dressage the FEI rules only say that the stock or tie must be white or off-white, while the Belgian rules do require a white shirt and ask for sleeves that cover at least the shoulders when no jacket is worn.
