The Horseware Amigo Ripstop 900D Plus Petite Turnout is a waterproof, breathable turnout rug that Horseware designed specifically for miniature horses and small ponies. You can choose the 0g version, with no fill, for light protection from rain, or the 200g version for mid-weight warmth. The outer fabric is 900D ripstop polyester and a detachable neck cover comes as standard.
About this turnout rug
Finding a rug that is genuinely made to fit a miniature horse or small pony is not always easy. Horseware built the Petite version with the same quality and technology as its standard Amigo rugs for horses, but in sizes from 55 to 80. It is a rug for everyday turnout: your pony stays dry in the rain, while moisture can escape through the breathable outer fabric.
The outer fabric is 900D ripstop polyester. Ripstop is a weave with a reinforced grid pattern that stops a small tear from spreading. The denier figure tells you about the thickness of the yarn: the higher it is, the sturdier the fabric. Inside is a smooth 210T polyester lining that is anti-static and enhances the shine of the coat.
The rug has a straight front closure and a front leg arch for more freedom of movement. Two cross surcingles keep it in place. At the back you will find a waterproof tail flap and a tail strap, plus loops for attaching leg straps. The detachable neck cover fastens to the hood loops, so you only use it when the weather calls for it.
The liner loops let you attach a Horseware liner underneath when it turns colder. Within the Maddelin range, this is the smallest size range among the Amigo turnout rugs. For larger ponies there is the Amigo Ripstop 900D Plus Pony Turnout.
