Schwinn Airdyne AD8 Air Bike – Unlimited Resistance. Cardio Without Limits.
Push harder. The machine pushes back.
The Schwinn Airdyne AD8 is not like other exercise bikes. This progressive air-resistance machine is built to burn as many calories as possible, work your entire body and push you to your limits in the toughest HIIT sessions, in just a few minutes per workout. Backed by more than 50 years of Schwinn Airdyne innovation, it follows one simple rule: the harder you pedal, the more the resistance increases. No ceiling, no limit, no motor.
Resistance That Responds to Your Effort
Unlike a magnetic bike with fixed resistance levels, the Airdyne AD8 uses an air fan. Every pedal stroke and arm movement speeds up the fan blades, which create more aerodynamic resistance, smoothly and instantly.
Unlimited resistance: there is no maximum level. The faster you go, the harder it gets, as demanding for an elite sprinter as for a motivated beginner Automatic self-regulation: slow down and the resistance drops; speed up and it rises immediately, with no manual adjustment No electricity required: fully mechanical, reliable, low-maintenance and usable anywhere
A Total-Body Bike: Arms, Legs and Core
The moving arms push and pull while your legs pedal, working:
Lower body: quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes and calves Upper body: chest, back, shoulders, biceps and triceps Core: abs, obliques and spinal erectors stabilise your posture and transfer power
Because it works your whole body, it burns far more calories than a traditional bike or an elliptical at the same perceived effort.
Multiple Training Modes
Total-body mode: arms and legs together, for maximum calorie burn Legs-only mode: hands on the fixed handles, isolating the lower body Arms-only mode: feet on the triangular foot pegs, isolating the upper body, ideal for rehabilitation or variety
Optimised Fan and Belt Drive
The fan's blade design and aerodynamic housing deliver maximum resistance at high intensity while staying much quieter than most competing air bikes, a big plus for early-morning workouts or if you live in a flat. The single-stage belt drive transfers power efficiently and is virtually maintenance-free: no chain to grease, no cables to adjust.
9 Built-In Programmes
The multi-LCD console shows time, distance, speed, cadence (RPM), calories, watts and heart rate in real time. Its 9 programmes include:
Manual: resistance adapts to your pace Intervals: 20/10, 30/30 and 45/15 second protocols, ideal for Tabata and HIIT Target heart rate zone: keeps your heart rate within a set zone Fat burn: keeps you in the optimal aerobic zone Aerobic/Anaerobic: targets each zone specifically Custom: create and save your own interval protocols
Accurate Heart Rate Monitoring
The AD8 works with Polar-compatible chest straps (4.5–5.5 kHz) that pair automatically and display your heart rate continuously. Enter your age and the console calculates your training zones (fat burn, aerobic, anaerobic) and shows which one you're in. Contact sensors in the fixed handles give a quick reading without a strap.
Multi-Position Handles
Wide horizontal grip: standard position for chest and back Narrow horizontal grip: targets triceps and front shoulders Vertical grip: maximum leverage for all-out sprints Top grip: for moderate-intensity efforts
Commercial-Grade Construction
The frame is made of steel with a corrosion-resistant powder coating, built to handle years of intensive daily use. The gel-padded seat adjusts for height and fore/aft. Levelling feet keep the bike stable on uneven floors, and a bottle holder and smartphone/tablet holder are included. Front transport wheels make the 51 kg bike easy to move.
